A Major Defect Survey is similar to our typical building survey and is prepared following a detailed inspection by one of our RICS accredited Chartered Building Surveyors. The report identifies key defects and is presented in a summary format. There is limited supplementary commentary on a property’s construction or aspects that are non-defect related. These reports are suitable for newer properties, or where a client is only concerned with the major structural issues.

A Building Defects Survey provides diagnosis and recommendations for further action on one or two issues relating to a property, for example roof coverings and structure, structural movement such as subsidence or issues of dampness and dry rot.
